Village Plans
Local Place Plan
Following a request from Fife Council that all Community Councils should produce a Local Place Plan which would provide a vision of how we would like our villages to progress, in 2024, the Elie and Earlsferry Community Council composed the following based on requests from and discussions with the local community. Please note that we will continue to take on board all future requests and, if appropriate, they can be added to the 'vision'.

Going Forth
Going Forth, conducted in 2020, was an initiative of the Elie and Earlsferry Community Council, funded by the Scottish Government, and delivered by social enterprise and charity, PAS. The Community Council was keen to undertake an engagement process to better understand the current, and future, planning and place needs of the whole Elie and Earlsferry community. The Going Forth process brought together a range of partners, including: Elie and Earlsferry Community Council, Fife Council, local landowners, business owners, local schools, community groups and local people. The process sparked imagination and lively discussion, leading to a range of ideas and proposals being put forward.

New Building Plans
In 2018 Elie Estates proposed some extensive developments in this area - to build some 81 new houses (25 behind Grange Road and 55 at Wadeslea) of which 24 will be “affordable homes” and available for rent. Planning in Principle was granted in 2023 but it is unknown if the plans have progressed any further.
